A new board of the Brandeis Youth Foundation, comprised of Jewish community leaders from coast to coast was announced today by Abraham Goodman, national president.
The Foundation sponsors the Brandeis Camp Institute, now located on a 2,200-acre ranch at Santa Susana, California, 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The camp program, as evolved 15 years ago by the late Justice Louis D. Brandeis and its director, Dr. Shlomo Bardin is designed to prepare college-age men and women from all over the nation for leadership in their Jewish communities. Two four-week institutes will be held this summer. Also sponsored at the Brandeis Camp Institute is Camp Alonim, its junior division for boys and girls, and “Weekends of Living Judaism” for adult leaders.
Chairman of the board for the Brandeis Youth Foundation is Dewey D. Stone of Brockton Mass., and vice-presidents include Louis H. Boyar, Steve Broidy, Julius Fligelman and Yoland D. Markson of Los Angles; Louis Levine of Boston, and Herman L. Weisman of Scarsdale, N.Y. Joseph J. Rifkind of Beverly Hills, Calif., is treasurer. Dr. Bardin is secretary and national director.
