Oxford University Press has announced publication of “The Refugee in the United States,” by Harold Fields, a volume giving a complete picture of the American immigration question in the light of the country’s immigration laws and past and present refugee movements, with special emphasis on the current exodus from Germany. The author is executive director of the National League for American Citizenship. The volume, a statistic-buttressed contribution to the practical literature on the refugee, is described by Mr. Fields in a preface as having been prepared “with the idea that an objective, impartial approach to the life of the refugee in this country was essential at this time.”
