Enacted into a law by the signature of President Roosevelt, the NRA code for the kosher butcher industry will go into effect next Monday, it was announced yesterday by David S. Andron, counsel to the Federation of Kosher Butchers of Greater New York.
Mr. Andron, the guiding spirit in formulating the code and gaining approval for it despite a year and a half of opposition from chain store interests and the food code authority, yesterday hailed it as “a great step in improving conditions in butcher shops” and “an aid to kashruth supervision.”
TO PLAN NATIONAL PARLEY
At a preliminary conference in New York Monday a code authority will be set up to enforce the code’s fair trade practice provisions and plans will be drawn up for a national convention of kosher butchers at the Hotel Commodore January 28.
