The Iraq Embassy here has inserted advertisements in the British press warning Iraqi Jews who have left the Arab country on vacation or business trips that the length of their stay abroad has been limited by a new decree.
The advertisement advises Iraqi Jews abroad that they must return to their home country within six months from the date they left it, even if they had permission to remain abroad a year or if their original six-month stay has been extended to one year. The regulations governing travel by Iraqis abroad provide for confiscation of property and revocation of citizenship of Iraqis who do not return within the prescribed deadline.
