The recent decree implementing the law curbing participation of Jews in Hungarian economy has the effect of making the law more severe, it was pointed out today, by applying the 20 per cent quota separately to the categories of doctors, engineers and public and private services, rather than to the total. The decree also declares that Christian children of mixed marriages, born after July, 1919, are to be regarded as Jews.

Addressing an executive meeting of the Jewish Community, President Samuel Stern stressed Jewish sufferings in Central Europe and appealed to Hungarian society and the Government not to tolerate Jew-hatred. He urged Hungarian Jews to fight for a new emancipation.
