A resolution pledging a large-scale land purchasing program in Palestine was adopted at the annual conference of the Jewish National Fund of New England yesterday. The parley was attended by some 700 delegates representing over 100 organizations.
It was revealed that the New England region last year raised some $200,000 for the purchase of 4,000 dunams (1,000 acres) of land in Palestine. Fred Monosson, New England communal and Zionist leader, was elected president. As a tribute to the past president, Dr. Arthur I. Shain, the organization will plant 1,000 trees on J.N.F. soil in Palestine.
