New England labor groups announced this week-end their full support for demands that the Federal authorities enter into investigation of the recent bombings of synagogues, Jewish centers and Negro schools in the South. Major labor groups here also went on record in support of bills pending in Congress to make it a Federal crime to transport explosives between states or to possess dynamite so transported that is intended for unlawful use.
The Boston Central Labor Union, the Massachusetts State Congress of Industrial Organizations and the Massachusetts Federation of Labor reported today that they had telegraphed the Attorney General and the Massachusetts congressional delegation urging Federal action. Similar action is expected by Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine labor groups.
