New England ‘y’s’ Endorse Boycott of Nazi Goods

A resolution calling for a boycott of all German-made goods was unanimously adopted here Sunday night at the closing session of the two-day convention of the Associated Y.M. and Y.W.H.A. of New England at the Hotel Statler.

Mordecai Soltes of New York, director of Education of the Jewish Welfare Board, and Judge Lewis R. Goldberg, of the Boston Superior Court, denounced the Hitler regime and called for united action by American Jewry in the present emergency.

After the adoption of the boycott resolution, the following officers were elected: Samuel Sidman, of Lynn, president, to succeed Max Kabatznick of Boston. Vice-presidents, Harry S. Mann, of Chelsea; D. R. F. Weiner, of Brockton; Samuel Markson, of Springfield; Mrs. Eva Olin Goldberg, of Brookline, and Miss Anne L. Dunn, of Woonsocket, R. I.

Miss Esther Elovitz of Revere was elected secretary and Nathan A. Heller of Boston is the new treasurer.
