A testimonial dinner on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday was tendered to Jacob de Haas, last night, under the auspices of the New England Zionist Region.
Mr. de Haas, who lived in Boston for a number of years, was lauded for his services to Zionism and his work as a publicist and biographer.
Elihu D. Stone, president of the region, presided. Addresses in addition to that of the guest of honor were delivered by Benjamin Rabalsky, Morris Katzeff, Myer J. Sawyer, William M. Blatt, Dr. Hyman Morrison, Mrs. G. Augustus Holzman, James D. Glunts, Dr. Harry A. Savatz, D. Augustus Holzman, Jacob Ginsburg, Leo J. Lyons, Alexander Brin, Joseph A. Shubow, Dr. Charles Askowith, Julius Meyer, I. J. Lowe, Mrs. M. Rosenblum, and Carl Gerstein. Messages of felicitation were received from Professor Nathan Isaacs, Hon. Albert Hurowitz, Rabbi H. H. Rabinowitz, Judge J. J. Kaplan, Robert Silverman and Gertrude Oppenheim.
