New Food Controis Due, Israel Rationing Minister Says; Seeks Food from U.S.

The Israel man-in-the-street is due to taks another notch in his belt, Dr. Dov Joseph, Minister for Supply and Rationing, indicated here today at a press conference. Minister Joseph announced that additional controls will be placed on food production throughout the country.

At the same time, the Minister revealed that negotiations are being conducted with the United States for the export to Israel of low-priced food. The Minister also reported that the Israel Government intende to increase the ## agricultural land in this country, which is used for direct food production.

The Ministry of Agriculture announced today that there will be ##tinned and ample supply of potatoes in Israel this year. It revealed that ## of land have been put under potato cultivation, which is 10 times ## potato area. The Ministry also announced that plans are being worked ## to reatore the country’s olive groves for the purpose of increasing olive production ##A herd of 700 cattle arrived here from the United States. T## were purchased from funds allocated from the U.S. $100,000,000 loan. This is the second ## of choice cattle to arrive from the U.S.
