John J. Haggerty, new head of the United States economic assistance mission in Israel, was received today by Premier David Ben Gurion. Later, he was a luncheon guest of Theodor Kollek, director general of the Premier’s office.
M. Haggerty, a career officer in the Foreign Service, has previously served in Peru, Yugoslavia, Bonn, Paris and Washington. He succeeds Dr. Lincoln Hale, who headed the U.S. aid mission since May, 1954.
