Dr. Yohanan Manor was unanimously elected the new Director General of the information department of the World Zionist Organization at the weekly meeting of the WZO Executive.
Born in Paris in 1937, Manor immigrated to Israel in 1957, following an active role in Zionist youth movements. He earned his doctorate in political science at the Sorbonne in Paris and presently lectures in political science at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and conducts a weekly seminar for the Department of Welfare. He has also done research for the Jewish National Fund and the United Jewish Appeal in the U.S., Canada and Western Europe through the Van Leer Institute here.
In 1976 Manor established the Inter-University Institute for Advanced Studies on Contemporary Jewry in Paris and was active in organizing Zionist seminars and conferences in France. Manor is married and has three children.
