Israel’s new Ambassador to Italy, Amiel Najar, said here yesterday that he regarded Italy and Israel not only as neighbors but as two nations linked by a thousand years of Mediterranean civilization. Mr. Najar, who took his new post after eight years as Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, addressed local Jewish leaders.
