The outlaying of discrimination in public housing projects in New Jersey, as well as the prohibition of restrictive real estate covenants, were urged in a special civil liberties report submitted to Governor Alfred E. Driscoll.
The report also proposed the liberalization of admission to the state’s schools of higher learning, legislation banning discrimination in New Jersey’s commercial schools and the establishment of a state medical school to halt “wide-spread discriminatory practices in the hospitals of our state in admission of patients as well as in the appointment of doctors, interns and nurses.”
