New Jewish Hospital Opens in Central Jezreel Valley

The Central Jezreel Valley Hospital for internal disease which will serve 26 Jewish settlements in its vicinity, was opened today not far from Kfar Yeladim in Upper Galilee. The hospital, which covers an area of 47 dunams, is equipped with the most modern equipment which together with the building cost $60,000, of which $25,000 was contributed by a committee of New York physicians and $15,000 by the Jews of Shanghai.

Among the numerous guests present at the ceremony were representatives of the Palestine government and of the British army forces. Greetings were received from the director of the Palestine Health Department. The speakers included E. Perelson in behalf of the Kupatholim (Sick Fund), Col. Frederick Kisch for the Jewish Agency, Dr. B. Yaffe of the Keren Hayesod, Dr. H. Yasky of the Hadassah, Isaac Ben Zvi, and Rabbi Shapiro for the Poel Mizrachi and Henrietta Szold.
