Dissatisfaction with the revised version of the “King of Kings” was expressed by Rabbi Henry J. Berkowitz of Temple Beth Israel in a statement he issued here.
“I saw the so-called revised version of the “King of Kings” today,” Rabbi Berkowitz said. “I believe that it remains substantially as before and that the harm which the film has done cannot be minimized by mere title changes and deletions. If possible, I would like to see the picture withdrawn entirely and certainly no Jews should exhibit the film.”
