A measure to outlaw racial and religious discrimination in places of public accommodation has won passage in both houses of the State Legislature and was awaiting signature today by Governor John F. Simms, Jr.
Before passing the bill by a margin of four votes, the Senate amended it to eliminate provisions establishing penalties in the event of conviction for discriminatory practices.
