A new blood purge rivalling in ferocity the purge of June 30 is under way in Nazi Germany, Paris newspapers reported today, quoting Volkestimme, Saarbruecken newspaper edited by Max Braun, Saar anti-Nazi leader.
According to Parisian papers, Volkestimme said that “more than 100 have been murdered and more than 1,000 arrested in another Nazi purge directed primarily against the storm troops and the Hitler youth organizations.”
The Saar paper also quoted another paper, Weltbuhne, which estimated that more than 230 had been slain and approximately 4,000 arrested in Berlin alone in the “new cleansing.”
