The American Friends of Aviation in Israel, an organization to raise funds for the establishment of aeronautical schools, workshops hangars and training fields for the training of aviation personnel in Israel, has been launched in New York, it was announced here today.
The organization, which is endorsed by the Government of Israel, will cooperate with the General Council of Aviation in Israel, a public body in the Jewish state which has the support of all parties and groups in its program of developing civil aviation. Among the members of the executive committee of the new group are Judge Morris Rothenberg, head of the Jewish National Fund, and Benjamin Weinberg, of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. Rep. Emanuel Celler is a member of the national board, while Menachem Kolari and Allen Roberts are executive secretary and executive director, respectively.
