Roberto Jimeziez, Foreign Minister of Panama, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today that the new Panama constitution, which will be drawn up at a convention opening June 15, will guarantee the legal equality of aliens, but will reserve the right to impose restrictions on immigration and practice of professions.
He expressed the belief that the new constitution will ease the sitwation of the immigrants now in Panama. Liberalisation of the present constitution, Mr. Jimenez said, is assured as a result of the fact that the government party won fourfifths of the convention seats in the election held last Saturday.
