A new Russian translation of the writings of Sholam Aleichem will soon be published in six volumes by the State Publishing House, it was announced yesterday in Moscow. According to the announcement, this will be the most complete translation of the famed Yiddish writer’s works. An editorial commission was appointed to supervise the publication which will have a first printing of 100,000 copies. There is no edition of Sholem Aleichem’s writings in Yiddish available in the Soviet Union.
