A new training ship for Jewish sailors, the “Chaim Arlosoroff,” named for the Palestine labor leader who was assassinated six years ago, has been launched at Tel Aviv by the sea division of the Hapoel Sports Association. Representatives of the Government, the Jewish Agency for Palestine, the Palestine Federation of Labor attended the ceremonies, at which the guests of honor were the widow and children of Arlosoroff.
The Government has prohibited Jewish sports boats on the River Yarkon to go out to sea without a police permit. The authorities are evidently afraid that the boats might help illegal immigrants enter the country.
