The first volume of a new German translation of the Bible will be the third publication this year of the Jewish Book Union (Juedische Buch-Vereinigung) organized by the Reichsvertretung der Deutschen Juden, it was learned.
The other two publications were Georg. Hermann’s novel, “Epoch Dies” and Jacob Wassermann’s “Joseph Kerkhoven’s Third Existence.”
The new volume will be issued only to members of the Vereinigung. The second volume will appear in 1935.
The translators are: Elias Auerbach, Haifa; Emil Bernhard-Cohn, Berlin; Julius Galliner, Berlin; Sally Gans, Berlin; Ludwig Levy, Breunn; Emil Levy, Berlin; Beno Jacob, Hamburg; Seligman Pick, Berlin; Georg. Salzberger, Frankfort; Herman Schreiber, Potsdam; Caesar Seligman, Frankfort; Max Weiner, Berlin, and Dr. Torczyner, University of Jerusalem.
Another publication of the Union during 1935 will be Professor Ismar Elbogen’s “History of the Jews.”
