The Ministry of the Interior has instructed all local mayors and governors throughout Turkey to “promote mutual respect and confidence among the entire Turkish prople” and to function in such a manner as not to discriminate against any group in the population, Minister of the Interior R. Nasuhoglu, announced here today. His instructions to local officials stressed that they must guide themselves according to the recently-adopted law guaranteeing all citizens equal rights.
The new Foreign Minister, F. Keuprulu, told a press conference that the Turkish Government will continue to maintain close contact with the Middle East situation. He added that world peace depends to a large extent on a solution of the problems of the Middle East. Political circles indicated that Turkey will continue to pay caraful attention to the Palestine Conciliation Commission.
