The New York Board of Rabbis called on all congregations in this city to support efforts in the New York State Legislature for a study of more equitable divorce laws at a meeting of the board last night.
The board also called on all Jewish congregations to refrain from holding bingo games as a fund-raising device as not being “in consonance with the high standards of morality and dignity which the synagogue sets for the general community.” Rabbi Emanuel Rackman of Congregation Shaarey Tefila was elected president of the board for 1955.
