The New York Junior Hadassah’s drive to raise funds for its Palestine activities will be climaxed Saturday night with a dance on board the U. S. S. Illinois at Ninety-sixth street and the Hudson River. The New York unit is concentrating its efforts during this and the following month in raising funds for its Model Children’s Village at Meier Shfeyah, an orange grove at Pardes Anna and the Hadassah’s Training School for Nurses in Jerusalem.
The young men’s committee of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities will hold smoker conference tonight at the Unity Club, Bedford avenue and Dean street, Brooklyn. Richard M. Cantor is president of the group, which is trying to enroll 100 new members as its contribution to the Federation’s campaign for $543,000.
Alexander Kohanski, director of the Boys’ Club of the Y. M. H. A. and cultural chairman of the Avukah Society, last night addressed the Hunter College Chapter of Avukah on labor problems in Palestine.
The Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst will hold its annual meeting tonight. Harry Glucksman, executive director of the Jewish Welfare Board, will be guest speaker.
A Yiddish Concert will be held Sunday evening for the benefit of the Community Church, at the Church Center, 550 West 110th street.
