The New York Board of Education dedicated a Lower East Side public school named for Henrietta Szold, founder of Hadassah, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her birth. Located at East Broadway and Scammel Street, the four-story Henrietta Szold School accommodates 1,185 pupils.
