A report on the educational system in Israel and the ORT schools there was given here last night by Dr. Jacob Greenberg, Associate Superintendent of the New York Board of Education, addressing a meeting of the board of directors of the American ORT Federation.
“I was amazed at Israel’s knowledge of modern pedagogical methods,” Dr. Greenberg stated. Discussing the ORT vocational training centers in particular, Dr. Greenberg said that in view of the industrial needs and immigration absorption problems in Israel there was no school or system of schools as important at this time as the ORT institutions. “I don’t think that it is possible to realize the tremendous significance of the vocational training work you are carrying on without seeing it first-hand;” he told the ORT leaders.
