New York City’s comptroller filed a friend-of-the-court brief urging a U.S. court not to dismiss a class-action suit filed by Holocaust survivors against French banks. Alan Hevesi’s move Monday came as the World Jewish Congress criticized the banks for not following through on a promise to contribute money to an international fund for needy Holocaust victims.
