Israeli telephone operators will be trained by a supervisor of the New York Telephone Company who left yesterday by plane for Tel Aviv. The supervisor, Mrs. Antoinette Leavy, who has been employed with the New York Telephone Company for more than 30 years, said she would give instruction courses in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem.
Mrs. Leavy was chosen by the New York Telephone Company for her trip after the company received a request from Dov Josef, Israeli Minister of Communications, asking that an expert be sent to Israel to train operators in American methods. She will remain in the Jewish state for about two months.
