More than $20,000,000 has been raised in the current $50,500,000 Building Fund and Maintenance Campaign of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York, it was announced today by Ralph E. Samuel, president of the Federation, as the Federation’s record campaign entered its climactic phase with the start of an 18-day period of solicitation of the general public. Ten thousand workers are participating in this spacial drive.
Pleas for community support of the $50,500,000 campaign of the Federation were made by more than 300 rabbis affiliated with the New York Board of Rabbis from their pulpits yesterday, which had been designated as “Federation Sabbath.”
