A new medal, which will be presented as an annual award to a prominent attorney “in recognition of leadership and service in the finest traditions of the law,” has been commissioned by the lawyers division of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York in honor of former State Supreme Court Justice Joseph M. Proskauer, it was announced today.
Justice Proskauer is a past president, an honorary trustee at large and associate chairman of the board of Federation. He also has served as president of the 92nd Street Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association, an affiliated agency of Federation. The medal, which is to be known as the Judge Joseph M. Proskauer annual award, is a bronze plaque bearing a sculptured head of Justice Proskauer.
