The Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York raised $14,100,000 in its 1951-52 fund-raising campaign, it was reported tonight by Milton Weill, president at the annual meeting of the organization.
“This is a little more than $1,000,000 short of its rock-bottom operational needs of $15,200,000,” he said. He stressed the fact that unless the Federation raised the needed $1,000,000 the philanthropic network would end the year with a deficit which would force the curtailment of services. A special effort will get underway shortly to raise the “urgently needed” $1,000,000 before the books close for the current appeal on September 30, 1952, he added.
