New York’s Mayor Robert F. Wagner was feted at Jerusalem’s City Hall today. During the ceremony, the Mayor was presented with a gold filigreed “Prophet Elijah” cup.
Thanking the municipality for the gift and the reception, Mayor Wagner said he was “proud” to be the mayor of the largest Jewish community in the world. After the ceremony, the Mayor laid a wreath before the tomb of the Unknown Israel Soldier, in the national military cemetery.
