Mayor Robert F. Wagner disclosed today he had resigned from the New York Athletic Club because he had heard allegations that the club discriminated against Jews and Negroes in admission policies.

John Condon, public relations director of the club, denied however that there was any discrimination. He said there were some Jews among its 9,500 members. He also said he did not know of any Negro members. Last month, the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith listed the New York club as being biased in its membership policies.
