The New York State Defense Council will “go after” employers or union officials who discriminate against minority groups in defense industry employment, Lieut.-Gov. Charles Poletti, who is coordinator of the Council, declared in a speech here yesterday.
“As coordinator of the State Defense Council,” Poletti said, many cases of discrimination have been brought to my attention. We check every complaint and we have found many complaints to be true, particularly in complaints brought by Negroes, although they are not the only minority groups that are being discriminated against. You just let us know and we will go after to employers, and the unions too when they are involved.”
