A bill to amend the Religious Corporations law in New York by adding a new section providing that two or more Jewish religious corporations might apply to the Supreme Court for an order of consolidation, if two-thirds of the membership of each body had agreed to the plan and the application, was put on order of third reading in the State Senate yesterday and is expected to be passed this week.

The combined organization would have title to the property and powers of its constituent bodies and whatever gifts had been devised to them.

The measure was introduced by Senator Fearson of Syracuse. Louis Marshall, as a member of the Committee for the Revision of the Corporation Laws of the State, drafted the bill. It was rumored that with the passing of this bill Temples Emanu-El and Beth-El in New York City, will unite.
