The United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York today announced the names of the general chairmen of its 1968 campaign. They are Lester Avnet, an industrialist and philanthropist; Mrs. Burt J. Siris, a leader in Jewish communal activity, and Benjamin Duhl and Morris L. Levinson, the latter two continuing their service of previous years.
The campaign, which gets underway Thursday, will be manned by 20,000 volunteers working in New York City, Westchester and Long Island on behalf of six major welfare agencies which benefit from the general campaign and for the Israel Emergency Fund.
