The United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York has set itself a 1947 goal of $65,000,000, Sylvan Gotshal, president, announced today, following an executive meeting of the board of directors of the organization.
The $65,000,000 goal is by far the largest sum ever sought by any voluntary agency in New York City and is almost double the record-breaking $35,000,000 sought by the United Jewish Appeal in the metropolitan area in 1946. It represents New York City’s share of the $170,000,000 sought nationally for the United Jewish Appeal.
