Dr. Ernest O. Melby, dean of the New York University School of Education, was awarded the annual Citation of Merit of the Anti-defamation League and District Grand Lodge No. 1 of B’nai B’rith for his outstanding ?ork in the field of intercultural education. He received the citation today at an all-day conference on human relations attended by more than 400 Jewish community leaders meeting in the Hotel Pennsylvania.
The citation was presented to Dr. Melby at the luncheon session of the conference by Justice Meier Steinbrink, national chairman of the A.D.L., for leadership la the establishment of the Center for Human Relations Studies, sponsored jointly in the N.Y.U. School of Education and the Bureau for Intercultural Education. The parley was attended by delegates from Canada, New York and New England, and New England.
