New York University is disassociating itself from a trip to Israel next week sponsored by Birthright Israel because of the U.S. State Department’s advisory against travel to the Jewish state. NYU is also forbidding its Hillel staff from accompanying 40 students on next week’s 10-day trip, and it has sent a memo to participating students stating that the university “does not endorse” the trip.
