The difference between the Passfield White Paper and the MacDonald letter is a matter of words, not of contents, the New York Yiddish daily, the “Day”, writes, commenting on the new Government statement interpreting British policy in Palestine. The “Day” says that it finds ambiguities in the statement, and adds that it will return to the matter again.

The other Yiddish papers in New York are so far silent on the subject.

The entire American general press, from the “New York Times” and the “New York Herald-Tribune” down, feature big reports of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency’s cable of the Prime Minister’s letter to Dr. Weizmann, laying down the British Government’s interpretation of the policy to be pursued in Palestine.

So far, no comments have been made, however, in any of the general papers.
