New York’s Jewish federation ranked as the top Jewish charity in America, according to The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s latest list of America’s top 400 philanthropies. In addition to the UJA-Federation of New York, which ranked 44th, some 24 other Jewish organizations made the annual list. Some 15 local Jewish community federations, two Jewish defense organizations, two American universities and three “friends” of Israeli universities are included.
