Agreement was announced today to transfer the functions of the Bureau of Service to the Foreign Born, which was maintained by the Newark Section of the National Council of Jewish Women, to the Jewish Family Service Association, an agency of the Jewish Community Council of Essex County.
A joint statement voiced the belief that merger of the Bureau into the family service agency “will not only continue all of its services undiminished, but will also unite these services with those of the Jewish Family Service Association into a Service to the Foreign Born Department adequately equipped to meet both the technical and human needs of its immigrant clients.”
