A new $1, 100, 000 building to house the activities of the YM and YWHA, was dedicated here in the presence of Jewish and communal leaders from this city and neighboring communities.
Michael A. Stavitsky, chairman of the Building Fund Campaign of the Jewish Community Foundation, laid the cornerstone of the structure which is in the heart of the predominantly Jewish Weequahic section. Other participants in the ceremonies included Samuel I. Kessler, oldest living past president of the “Y, ” Julius H. Cohn, president of the Jewish Community Foundation, Rabbi Joachim Prinz, Alan V. Lowenstein and Louis Stern, past presidents of the Jewish Community Council.
