Newark Jews Dedicate New Hospital; Launch $2,000,000 Fund Drive

Simulataneously with the dedication of the new Both Israel Hospital yesterday there was launched a $2,000,000 endowment fund campaign.

More than a million dollars has already been pleged in advance subscriptions. Michael Hollander is drive chairman with Felix Fuld and Michael A. Stavitsky, vice-chairmen.

Contributions of $250,000 by Felix Fuld, who four years ago contributed a like amount, $100,000 by Louis Bamberger and $60,000 by Michael Hollander were made to the fund prior to the launching of the campaign.

Governor A. Harry Moore in his address at the dedication praised the citizens of Newark on building the hospital. Mayor Thomas L. Raymond accepted the keys of the hospital on behalf of the city and praised the hospital board for placing the new institution at the disposal of all races and creeds.

At a banquet in the evening, Felix Fuld, Dr. F. S. Goldwater of New York, and Justice Samuel F. Kalisch of the New Jersey Supreme Court were the speakers. Samuel F. Leber, Chairman of the hospital’s Dedication Committee, presided.
