Slaughterers, pluckers and other workers in local kosher poultry markets have returned to work, ending a strike that was marked by some violence since its inception last Thursday.
The NRA apparently is to be a deciding factor in the controversy between poultry dealers and the workers. A conference between members of the state NRA board and representatives of the workers and dealers resulted in a decision to stop the strike temporarily until the NRA mediation board could work out a satisfactory wage and hour scale.
This was said to be the first time since the NRA program went into effect in New Jersey that labor troubles were settled by the NRA board through arbitration.
