Temple B’nai Abraham, New Jersey’s largest Jewish house of worship, will mark jointly the eightieth anniversary of its establishment and the tenth anniversary of the opening of its present home in three-day exercises starting next Friday night.
United States Senator A. Harry Moore will appear as a speaker at the Sabbath eve services, which will be conducted by Rabbi Julius Silberfeld, spiritual leader for thirty-two years.
The outstanding feature of the celebration will be a community dinner in honor of four Temple leaders, the entire proceeds to go for congregational activities. Those to be honored are Mayor Meyer C. Ellenstein, a member of the board of trustees; Louis V. Aronson, chairman of the building committee when the present edifice was dedicated; Albert Hollander, president during the past decade; and Philip J. Schotland, his immediate predecessor in that office.
Bernard S. Deutsch, president of the Board of Aldermen of New York City, will be the guest speaker at this dinner.
