A 22-year-old woman from Ramallah is in custody for allegedly placing a bomb in the central bus station in Jerusalem Sunday. Police disclosed that the suspect. Atal Ashraf, was seized shortly after she was seen dropping a suspicious-looking parcel into a trash can at the bus station. The bomb was discovered and dismantled-safely.
Police said that Ashraf is believed to have been involved in several other terrorist acts this year. Last week, an unidentified woman left a booby-trapped flower pot at the entrance to a Jerusalem supermarket. It exploded, slightly injuring one person. Police would not say whether they suspected Ashraf of that act. However, they said more arrests are expected.
