Foreign Minister Abba Eban will pay an official visit to the West German Federal Republic in February on the invitation of Bonn’s Foreign Minister, Walter Scheel, a Foreign Ministry spokesman announced today. Mr. Eban will be the first Israeli Foreign Minister to visit Germany. The only other Israeli minister to visit Germany while in office was Chaim Tsadok who was Minister of Trade and Industry at the time. The Foreign Ministry said a return invitation has been extended by Israel to Mr. Scheel. Mr. Eban will also visit Belgium and Holland in February.
